Last Leaf
The valley here in Oregon has been fogged in for quite a while now. It makes the cold seep to your bones and the outside look so bleak. This one last leaf was still holding on and kind of reminds me of how we do that against the toughest odds. Nature mimics man or vise-versa.
It is clear that the season of holiday lights is for a good and solid reason to try to light up our nights and our life during the time of short days and dark weather.

The Big Dope again.
With winter and cold nights, Spike is even more attuned to our bed. The other cats dive under the covers but with his thick coat he is happy to take up the top and has become darned near too big to lay on our bodies, it is almost like another person in bed.

Fogged In
This photo was taken during the day when the sun just could not penetrate the fog.
In the deep of late fall/early winter the cold starts and some days we are just socked in. On days like this, you can feel the chill in your bones and wish for the summer sun. That is when a warm fire place and cup of coffee are most appealing and sometimes you can see the beauty of a foggy day.

Merry Christmas From Spike
He is such a character and an integral part of our household, I couldn't help myself.
